New feature: 13th & 19th Visit

Pariox is well aware and prepared for the CMS 2011 Home Health Final Rule requirement which requires all homecare therapists (excluding assistants) to perform an assessment on the 13th and 19th visit in an episode. The new rule is more clearly defined as follows: A professional therapist assessment in rural areas and non-rural areas under extenuating circumstances (not defined by CMS) must take place any time after the 10th visit but no later than the 13th visit; and after the 16th visit but no later than the 19th visit specific to each discipline of therapy.

“Commenters of the CMS Final Rule quoted recent findings of a health care consulting company’s survey of Homecare providers regarding the proposed therapy clarifications, stating that most providers believe the proposed therapy changes would lead to scheduling difficulties for therapy visits and would cause difficulties in employing/contracting qualified therapists.”1

With Pariox, adhering to this rule and transitioning an entire staff of homecare therapists (employees and subcontractors) to the new rule mindset will be easy and burden-FREE! Pariox homecare clients will enjoy a built-in, automatic notification feature (for the 13th & 19th visits) that will tremendously benefit all homecare therapists who are required to provide assessments under this new rule. This new, user-friendly feature will be unveiled to Pariox clients before the rule’s effective date of April 1, 2011.
